Meet Marie!
Marie is my younger brother’s registered Jersey dairy cow.  She recently just calved a beautiful heifer named Louise and is getting prepped for fair season.
She’s such a spoiled cow, and we love her! My brother also has another Jersey cow one year older than Marie, named Rosie, a bull and now Marie’s calf Louise.  At twelve years old the kid is an entrepreneur!

The two most well known organizations that kids like my brother have the opportunity to show animals in are 4-H and FFA.
4-H groups and FFA Chapters attend county fairs to compete against other students doing the same thing.  Did you know that that is how county fairs began?
4-H is a county organization for youth starting in the fourth grade whereas FFA is an organization for high school aged students. Both present excellent agriculture experience and education, promote self-excellence and encourage community service.
Neither organization is limited to livestock involvement, and many programs offer Home Economics, Horticulture and Floral Design, Ag Mechanics, Public Speaking and Communications, Small Engines, and much more!
